Inktober  so far….

Here are a few Inktober grawins….

I hope you enjoy!

I’ve been doing this Inktober thing, right after the month long monster a day of the Dungeon Degenerates of PORK Magazine! this is my favorite so far of Inktober….

Thanks for having a look! More soon!

Dungeon Degenerates part 2.

I’ve made it 10 days into drawing fantasy RPG monsters for each day in September!

Day 5 was a Lich!

Day 6 was a “Watcher” better known as a Beholder.

Day 7 was a GHOST!

Day 8 was a BRUTE!

Day 9 was a Mermaid.

And Day 10 is a BUGBEAR, I drew him in my closest imitation of Chuck Jones and Tom & Jerry.

Thanks for looking! I hope you enjoy!

Received a beautiful signed copy of Bacchus Vol. 2 today!

I couldn’t be more pleased to finally have all of these stories collected into two omnibus volumes. Waaaay back in high school, I tried to collect as many issues of Deadface and The Eyeball Kid as possible. They were tough to find. Huge gaps in my collection resulted in my not being able to comprehend most of the stories.  My time at Top Shelf is now complete in my mind with receiving this volume. One of their best releases. I’ll end this post with the Bacchus item I bought from Chris Staros at one of the first shows I’d met him at, HeroesCon!

Thank you Chris, thank you Top Shelf and thank you Eddie Campbell. All of you helped my love of comics grow and evolve.

Dungeon Degenerates!

I’m trying to participate in drawing a different fantasy RPG monster for every day in September.

Here are the monsters for the first four days……

Day 1: GOBLIN!

I decided to rehash an older sticker design as I was behind a couple of days.

Next up

Day 2: TROLL!

Day 4: WYRM!!

I’m hopeful that I will draw the whole month. So far it’s been a lot of fun!

I wanna be starting something…..

Working on something that will then be taken by a friend and colored, and a then laid out for a poster design….

Thanks for looking! More on this project later!

1980s Geekout down the holiday road…..

OMG! Everyone, look at this metal and plastic prize!

And in time for summer vacations everywhere!

I had to open it! Look what was on the other side…”HONKEY Lips”!!

So great!

Toy show and Comic Shop anniversary….

Yesterday was Saturday and there was a toy show in my town. Lots of fun for me and a certain little dude that I love. First off I found these neato oversized Matchbox Cars…..

Aren’t they neato?!

The red and blue one are both marked “Matchbox Speed Kings”, but the red one is marked 1971 called “Shovel Nose”, and the blue one is 1972, called “Bandolero”. I’m sure they were beautiful right out of the box, but, I kind of like the worn look. You can see the years on them and it gives them character. Don’t you think?

Now, the green one is also marked Matchbox, but is from 1977. It is from their line called “Adventure 2000”. It’s called “K-2002 Flight Hunter”. These were just a few of the items we picked up at the Inside Pitch Toy and Hobby Show.

Later in the day, I had been invited to be a guest artist at The SPOT in Newton NC.

While I was there I “spotted” (see what I did there?!) a comic that I always buy (yes I collect multiple copies of my favorites), Crystar issue #6. Now I don’t collect the Crystar series and I didn’t as a kid, but, this issue is pretty much an X-Men stand alone issue in disguise. The entire thing is about my favorite mutant Nightcrawler!

Talk about a day of fun! WHEW!
