Klassic Krazy Kool Kids Komics!

Recently an extremely cool person, Craig Yoe was kind enough to send me a copy of one of his MANY fine comic collections…

This is a fantastic collection of cartoon/kids comics! I mean look at that list of names on your left!

I know of no other books, outside of www.yoebooks.com and www.idwpublishing.com that has collected these names with some of their “under the mainstream radar” creations. I can’t imagine I’d have found many of the single issues these comics came from much less been able to afford them. Here are just a few (very few!) examples of this books sweet innards…

There’s even a comic from an unknown artist from the early 1850s, called The Adventures of Mr. Tom Plump, which is as hilarious as it is fascinating…

I cannot wait to dig in more!

Finally, here’s a bit more about the designer, editor, and collector from the back cover:

Man, this is worth your time and money to grab a copy. For you and your kids to enjoy together or if you don’t have kids then to please your inner kid!!

Bought a castle for $1

On occasion a dollar store, of one brand or another, will have the odd off model toy or three. I was, however, surprised by the quality of this tiny castle model!

Complete with tiny Knights and horses and even siege ladders!

Even the background, after opening the package, had a creepy “haunted castle” vibe to it.

Not bad for a buck, eh wot?

From the “I have no idea how or why” department…

I picked this cartoon can/bottle opener up at an antique store years ago…

He reminds me of Tom, from Tom and Jerry? I haven’t been able to find any information about when, where, or why it was made. Are there more? Is it licensed? It’s all metal, with enamel paint. No markings of any kind. Still, a very cool piece of pop culture, even if I never find out. Here’s to you cartoon cat opener!!

And now for a commercial break…
